Regional Operations Center & Economic Incentives Success
The Challenge
Leading medical device manufacturer was seeking to relocate one of their largest business units into a lower-cost location to support their exponential growth.
Needed to develop a business plan to support their envisioned regional operations center for over 1,400 employees.
Targeted business units included management, patient care, customer service, collections, and medical claims processing.
The Solution
Established employee profiles for each business unit based on skill sets, educational attainment, industry experience and applicant sources.
Over 930 metro areas were filtered based on a complex process to identify 18 metro areas for in-depth evaluation.
Developed a cost-per-employee metric used to calculate savings estimations.
Identified 5 finalist metro areas that proceeded to further due-diligence and negotiations.
The Result
Negotiated a lease for 150,000 square feet with concessions of $4.5 million.
Negotiated an economic incentive package in excess of $14.0 million inclusive of cash grants, tax abatements, training grants and permitting fee waivers.
Achieved an estimated $7.4 million in annual operating cost savings over existing operations.
