Vice President
Eileen Hughett is a Vice President at Site Selection Group, where she manages key client relationships and oversees multiple client contracts, ensuring that deliverables are met and exceptional service is provided. Her responsibilities span a range of tasks, including compliance management, tax research, contract reviews, audits, and mentoring team members. Eileen’s extensive experience in tax incentives and credits allows her to build strong relationships with economic development teams across various states, delivering value to clients through strategic insights and comprehensive management.
Eileen’s career began in tax preparation, where she worked on both federal and state tax returns for a CPA firm in Houston. She then joined KPMG in the Federal Tax Group, continuing to hone her expertise in corporate and tax return preparation. Later, at Thomson RIA Tax Partners, she helped develop software for partnership state returns before transitioning to roles at Management Insights (later acquired by TALX) and Ernst & Young. At Ernst & Young, Eileen managed major client relationships across industries such as retail, manufacturing, and wholesale, generating millions of dollars in revenue, resolving payroll and compliance issues, and leading audits. Her leadership and client management skills were recognized by E&Y executives for their excellence.
Eileen has nearly 20 years of experience in tax incentives, including working as an independent consultant, where she assisted corporations with identifying statutory and negotiable incentives and managing compliance. She also held a senior role at HCA, overseeing credit and incentive systems, audits, and financials for the incentive team.
With a focus on various industries, Eileen has significant experience working with manufacturing, healthcare, retail, food and beverage, and construction sectors. Some of her notable clients at Site Selection Group include Michelin, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Papa John’s, Teleperformance, and Paris Baguette, among others.
Eileen is particularly excited by the evolving landscape of tax incentives and credits, where her extensive knowledge of federal and state compliance and audit processes provides a distinct advantage. Her deep understanding of compliance requirements enhances her ability to negotiate favorable incentive agreements for clients.
In her current role, Eileen aims to continue growing her expertise in incentives while refining her leadership abilities. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Her technical skills include proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Outside of work, Eileen enjoys spending time on the lake and gardening. She is married with two children and thrives on solving complex tax challenges, blending her expertise with a personal passion for helping businesses succeed.
